I was in Scottsbluff last weekend (5/18 - 5/19/2024) for the high school graduation. While searching with my TRX-1 I was able to find the following talk groups.

52118 (encrypted)
52119 (encrypted)
52120 (encrypted)
52141

Would anyone have any information on who the users might be.

The first 3 could be Scottsbluff FD, last one probably Public Works TG. I am basing this on the TG pattern shown for Scottsbluff. Norfolk follows a similar TG pattern. Of course, due to encryption, it will probably be difficult who the TG's actually belong to besides the 52141.

Often times the RID/UID follows a pattern too, if someone takes the time to map out known radio IDs it is a big help figuring out encrypted TGs.

Just out of curiosity, and I hope I don't get penalized for asking about this by the MODS but as a active Nebraska Firefighter(couple hours from Scottsbluff) and as someone who runs an operates my own radio programming/installation company, was there ever a reason for the FD wanting to be encrypted? Like I get why depts are doing it especially PD's but every fire chief I have spoken to doesn't understand the reasoning behind it, mostly because all of our fire agencies here assist in a mutual aid capacity on larger fires there. I do have to add all the V-TAC 30's to dept radios since they are used up there but I guess with mutual aid being such a huge part of western Nebraska fire depts just was always curious why they choose to go E for fire stuff. We have a lot of split VHF/UHF in my area and we have to run two radios for everything to have proper communications with everyone including surrounding counties. Any how not trying to create issues just seek more information as its always discussed amongst departments in my area.
