Sorry Im really not new to scanning just new to phoenix and to Trunking. I have Scottsdale in my Pro 97 I used win 97 with a subscription from RR.com to upload the freqs directly to mu Pro 97. Well when I scan the bank It never stops on Scottsdale, but if I manualy go through the channles I hear Scottsdale PD but it does not follow ch to ch. Did it program something wrong? I should be able to scan right?

I reprogrammed the scanner again using Pro 97 and RR.com as a web import for scottsdale pd. It still does not stop on the freqs when it scans, but if I stop it on one of the channles it picks them up fine but does not follow the chan. It does stop on some of the chanles but I just hear like a digital noise? What could I be doing wrong?

What frequencies did you use when programming Scottsdale? RadioReference also lists the OLD Scottsdale system. The Scottsdale system uses the same Control Channel frquencies listed under the Maricopa County system. If you live on the East side of the valley, the Thompson Peak site Control Channel primary and alternate frequencies should be used. If on the West side of the valley, the White Tank site frequencies are the ones to use. Also, did you set the bank and frequencies to Motorola mode when entering?

Dave I used the ones listed under scottsdale I used the win97 programm to do a web import so I did not have to put all the freqs in myself it also put the talk groups. Just when it scans it does not stop but like I said I can manually stop on the channle.

The frequencies you've listed are from the OLD and no longer in use Scottsdale system. You'll need a scanner that is capable of monitoring digital systems such as the Pro 96, Pro 2096, or the Uniden models 296D, 396D, 996D etc. I cannot remember if the 97 is capable or not? With a digital capable scanner, you'd need to program in the Maricopa County system frequencies, . . . then enter in the Scottsdale talkgroup I.D.'s.

Ok I got the scottsdale stuff in now and am picking up Scottsdale! The only issue is that once and a while it will stick on a freq that sounds like a bunch of digital noise and its loud, if I lock that freq out it stops stopping on channles that have activity. Another thing Scottsdale is not digital right because I do not have a digital scanner and I am getting them and I have heard that they are not digital.
Thanks!

Thanks! I resolved the issue. I had to make sure closed was checked. It was picking up the digital talk groups that I did not have assigned in the scanner. When I click closed it only accepted the talk groups I had assigned which are only Scottsdale so im happy now, and am not getting that digital noise.
