SCPD midnight 5th Pct

I know that they did away with the midnight Suffolk PD Command dispatcher, and the 5th takes over. They patch the 2 bands together (5th Pct & Command band). My question is why can you only hear traffic over the Command, and not the 5th. Shouldn't you hear it over both?

It may not be a full duplex patch set-up. Also take note that SCPD is pulling the plug on the VHF Command Band simulcast on or around Dec 31st. 800 MHz re-banding will soon follow in early 2010.

I've always heard full traffic on both Command and 5th precinct channels. As for the Command band VHF side, you only hear the dispatcher.
