What could be the explanation (if there is any) as to why there is a RS 20-137 (PRO-137) model label in the battery compartment of a Uniden BCD396XT?

The only thing I can possible come up with would be the original rear of the case was damaged somehow and it was replaced with the RS part instead of the Uniden.

Any other theories?

I know some of the older RS models were produced by Uniden. Some parts may be interchangeable.

That's what I'm kind of thinking, since the pro-137 and the bcd396xt appear to be pretty much the same size.
Look at the back of your manual. In the lower right corner you will see Made in China with a type number starting with UBZZ. That identifies it as designed and made by Uniden, Japan.
I have had experience with the PRO-433, 528, 160 & 162 scanners with the same numbers. Uniden in the U,S. denied any knowledge of those scanners.
