Can you create a file(s) on another (new) Sd card and replacement the one in 436 hp.

The reason I am asking for I can not get the radio see the USB Cable when I hook it up to the radio. Before I Send it into repair I want to see if this works. So I can use it for a trip to Louisiana.

If so what do I need to do prep or get it work.

Big thanks for the help.

If your asking if you can switch sd cards with different setups on them, then yes. You dont have to connect to your radio, you can pull the sd card out and put it in your computer (assuming your pc has a sd slot or can handle the sd adapter)

Absolutely. As long as the other/new SD card has gone through the "Clear User Data" process (which prepares the card so it will be recognized by the scanner, more or less). You'll also need to load the full database and any Favorites Lists to the new card too.

I always like having a couple of spare SD cards, especially when on trips.

Also one could take an SD card from a 536 and use it in a 436 without any extra steps (and vice versa).

The steps are simple.

1 format a new card
2 copy the information from the original to the new card.

I keep a full copy of my SD card on my computer just in case.

Thanks, your help. The Patient (436hp) survived the operation (LOL). Again thanks for all the help.
