Now that summer is over, I’m getting ready for the AM broadcast band DX season. I’ve upgraded my antennas to include a magnetic loop mounted in my horse pasture well away from noise sources, and a 250 foot random wire feeding a 9:1 unun.
My current SDR is an Elad FDM-S2, which I’ve used to good effect on HF this spring and summer, but now I’m looking to add another SDR to my shack—one that has top performance on the MW band. Any recommendations? I use SDR-Console V3 with the S2, but compatibility with Console is not a prerequisite here—I’m willIng to sacrifice use of Console to gain MW performance, if that’s what it takes.
My budget is USD$2000.
