Hey guys I finally bought my first house and want to put up some outdoor antennas for my SDR dongles.
I mostly use just two dongles at a time.
Should I use separate antennas for this or split one antenna? Not sure how splitting an antenna would work with SDR dongles. I have split scanner antennas but thats it. New to the antenna side of things.

EDIT: I should clarify that since this is the splitter forum that IF i should need to split an antenna what I should use? Will be mostly 7/800 band.

The type of receiver would have nothing to do with the results of splitting the antenna signal. Splitting means just that 50% one way and 50% the other, or however many ways you split it.
Get the Stridesberg multicoupler, or you could cobble one together with Mini Circuits amps and splitter.
I use LMR400 for everything. Use the chart and pick what suites your fancy. Never, never, never use RG58.

black/white/grey.
separate antennas/two antennas/both.
i would put anything that is close in one radio and use the 'inside' antenna.
and use the outside one for farther things, that way you get the most signal for the weaker stuff.
being in Florida, i don't want any outside stuff.
i even use only batteries on my main radio, it is never plugged in. (maha battery charger)

Search on eBay for an Electroline multicoupler. They make 'em in 4-way and 8-way versions and make sure to get one that comes with the power supply. Then you'll only need 1 antenna. And much cheaper than other multicouplers that rip you off.

I have tested the four (EDA-UG 2402) and eight (EDA-UG 2802) port Electroline models that have 0 dB gain output at each port. I used an SDRPlay and looked at various frequencies with the antenna straight to the SDR and then through each multi-coupler. The numbers were the same, so I use them with multiple scanners/receivers. I tested various frequencies from 30 to 900 MHz. I did not test below 30 MHz, so I am unsure of the result there. These can be purchased via eBay for $10 or less, but even at $25 they would be a good deal. As previously noted, ensure they come with the wall wart power supply.

+1 on the electroline. I’m using the 8 port 0db gain and I’m impressed with it.

Make sure you terminate any unused ports with 75ohm terminating resistors.
