Hi, Are you like me and use SDR as a Radio Scanner? If so, Do you find it a pain when loading SDR you have to make those exact crucial ticks and clicks (like uncheck squelch) and use only waterfall with full zoom, and click ADG RTL and the other one on front end.

WHY can't it restore the exact previous instance? So you can open it and play with no fuss.

I've checked the config file and tried to change the squelch from true to false but to no avail. I also would like to change the default saplerate on front end(saves CPU usage)

I use Two instances of SDR with Unitrunk and DSD With NooElec dongles.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
I would suggest joining the SDR# mailing list and making a request for this in there. I'd be happy too if I didn't have to keep changing the filter from Blackman-Harris to Youssef and things like that. I could download the source and modify it myself to do that for me, but I'm too busy/lazy lol...

While I'm not sure what all of your symptoms are, this 'may' help some.

I've noticed that if SDR is run 'Maximized', it does not always update the config file.

If it's run in 'Restore Down' it seems to update the config file properly.

Edit: By the way, SDR does NOT remember which dongle it was running with. (When using multiple dongles.)

If you use multiple dongles (of the same type) with multiple instances of SDR, the only way I've found to make it work predictably is to unplug all but the first dongle and start an instance of SDR.
Then ............... hit 'PLAY' to start it running.

Then plug in the next dongle and start that instance of SDR etc.

I've run at many as seven dongles at the same time and I always MUST do it that way.
Otherwise, the correction (ppm) etc. will not be correct for whichever dongle is randomly selected.

I have labels on all of my dongles.
The label has the number of that specific dongle and also contains the ppm correction to match it so I don't have to keep adjusting the correction.

You can then EDIT the config file for each dongle and include the number for that specific dongle in the drop down box at the top.
You can see here that I have each of the four dongles labeled as ...................
"RTL-SDR / USB-1, RTL-SDR / USB-2" etc.

label dongels

Yes, I label the dongels as well. Sdr does remeber the freq. correction but that is it.
I want it to remember

Front end settings 1) check RTL AGC
2) Different Sample Rate
Other settings 3) uncheck squelch

Something must be unique in your installation.

SDR# remembers those settings on mine.
I just verified it on version 1114 and 1171.

Which version are you using?
If it's different than what I'm using, I'll try to find it and see if that shows the same symptoms here.

Did you install SDR using the install.bat file? You may have a mismatch in versions otherwise.

The only problems I have is if I close out of SDR# with the window maximized. It doesn't seem to save anything to the config file when I do that.

There's also this:
Installation in "C:\Program Files (x86)" is NOT good.
SDRSharp does not handle the use of the program files folder correctly.
So, it must not be installed there.
I've created separate folders and just named them "SDRSharp-1, SDRSharp-2, etc"

Rich

Edit: I just tried version 1145 and that version acts 'unusual'.

And.............. I did find this comment from last year so if you're using an old version of SDR#, that could be your problem.

Setting saving is not implemented at all. It's not a bug, but rather a missing functionality. I'll code it later.

Thank-you rbm. I re-track my original quarry. I was afraid to try another version of SDR# in case my working setup would fail. The version of SDR must be old or a rev. version with bugs. The version number was a bunch of zeros in the top plane. Any who......this setup is awsome, Now working ver.1171. And I just kept the trunker.dll and added it to 1171 with the "add" plugin line in the config.exe file.
Thankx again for your time......
