I have an RTL SDR v4 that I'm trying to use to feed audio into JS8 Call via VB audio cable. A few weeks ago I had it up and running without issue and was able to decode messages, but since then I can no longer get SDR# to function when the audio output is set to [DS] CABLE Input (VB Audio). The error I get is displayed in this screenshot:

I uninstalled and reinstalled both SDR# and VB Audio cable to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Of note, SDR# will read my RTL SDR when I set audio output to [MME] Microsoft Soundcard:

Any insight would be most appreciated.

Try setting audio to mme vb-cable

Different error when I do that. I should also note that after I reinstalled VB audio cable I now have another device option "[DS] CABLE In 16ch (VB Audio)"

That still gives the same error as the original "[DS] CABLE Input (VB Audio)" however.

I will admit I know nothing about JS8 Call but but does it require raw unfiltered audio? I mean after you get it running?

As far as PA Device Unavailable, this user had that message but did not mention anything about virtual cables.

I tried with the filter checked and unchecked. No difference unfortunately. As to the settings in the post you shared, I had the same errors. Either unanticipated host or pa device unavailable.

This really is frustrating lol.

Still working on this issue. I downloaded and tried SDR Angel. I'm able to get the SDR to receive and output to VB audio cable, but the water fall I'm getting in JS8 doesn't look right...basically just getting these thin lines of signal every time I switch between the audio outputs.

If it's any help, I screenshotted my settings on SDR Angel but I'm not familiar with the application so it could be a stupid setting mistake somewhere in there.
