I am listening to a HIGH POWER DMR business repeater with LOTS of users. Using SDR TRUNK with an 8 element yagi pointing directly at the tower. Tower is about 5 miles northwest of me. Using an RTL-SDR dongle. Signal STRONG. Why do some talkgroups come in real GARBLED? It sounds like the simulcast distortion I experience sometimes on the local P25 system for public safety. The DMR repeater is in the 900 mhz range. Some talkgroups come in loud and clear while others are garbled/distorted. Is there a setting for DMR for better audio? Here is screen shot of waterfall with weird looking signals.

Probably too much gain - 5 miles is really close. Try using a different antenna or turn down gain in Sdrtrunk. I am not a regular user of Sdrtrunk but I think under tuners tab and clicking the tuner will reveal gain settings.

OK I will try to lower gain, thanks!
