I posted this on the SDRUNO site but was wondering if any one can help me with this.
running Windows 10 home.

:(I have SDRPLAY and SDRUNO Software on my computer and I can go to the FM Radio Band and I pick up all the FM radio station clearly, but when I try to go to the other band and listen to the ham radio operators or anything else I pick up no signals on upper or lower sidebands or AM. Cant figure out what I'm doing wrong. I had a sdrplay when they first came out and sold it and I had no problems setting that one up. Now for the life of me can't understand why it's working on the FM Radio stations and nothing else. These are two captures of the waterfall. tried two different antenna's one discone antenna and the other a longwire, 200' feet of speaker wire outside.

I also am using SDRUno and notice that you have 7000 on USB and should be LSB. Also, the "GR" probably should be more to the left. :GR" means GAIN REDUCTION, and seem backwards to me. The more you move it to the right reduces the gain. Also, 7,000 KHz is best at nighttime. It is sometimes used in the daytime for local sort distance communications. Hop this helps.

Jerry

Thanks Jerry, I have tried LSB, USB and changed the gain but all I can receive is FM band there are NO signals of any kind on any of the bands except FM. I tried reinstalling everything but no luck. It's strange that I can receive FM radio but nothing else.

Hmmmmm? Have you brought your question to SDRPlay on Facebook? Lots of answers there.

No I put it on the SDRuno FORUM and thought I would get help there, I am not on Facebook, can't think of anything else to do.

I tried SDR-UNO for a few hours. I did get reception on a few things, but very frankly I did not like it.
I had problems with audio quality and just way too many gismos for me. Went back to Console ver. 2.3.
Plus there is no way to import your memories. I think that is planned for a newer beta release. The program needs work at the very least.

The one thing I've noticed in the SDRuno Main window, you have the Gain Reduction (GR) set quite high. What happens when you reduce that, say to where it doesn't get to the right end of the LNA box above it? (Just re-read the thread, This was suggested.)

It might also help if you captured an image of the RSP Control and the EX Control, too.

Thanks Mike, I am in the process of uninstalling everything and starting from scratch again, as far as the gain control I have tried from one end to the other it did not help. Once I get everything installed I will try and see if that help me with my problems,

Be advised, there is a RESET SDRuno.bat file that can save you time by not uninstalling and reinstalling every time.

Contents of the bat file are listed below:

reg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SDRplay\SDRuno" /f

This is detailed on page 15 of the SDRuno Cookbook: http://www.nn4f.com/SDRuno-cookbook.pdf

Saint,
What is the antenna setup? Broadcast FM being local and high power does not take much wire to receive a usable signal. HF is going to require more antenna and some days all the wire you own is not enough. :(

I have a discone antenna and 200'feet of speaker wire out on my balcony. Last year I had a sdrplay and sold it. I used the same antenna's and was getting great reception on all the bands.. Just don't understand why all the problems. I tried a couple of other software programs and they did not work any better.

At least with the strong FM you know the sdrplay hardware has some level of functionality and is not dead, but on the deaf side.

I have a funcube and airspy to play with and it's easy for me to make a selection reducing the performance of the hardware.

That 200' of wire should be pulling in something. Take a close look at the antenna for good continuity to the receiver. It might be the FM signal is so strong it's making up for a poor antenna connection.

:confused:Checked all connections, there is something wrong when you can't get one frequency in the Ham bands and no utility frequencies, I had a list of utility frequency over several hundred and a list of Ham nets that was huge and now nothing. I had no problem setting up sdrplay last year, it was like plug and play, now I have been struggling for 12 hours to get this to work. Anyway I will get some sleep and try again tomorrow. Really hope that they can help me on the sdrplay site or the sdruno forum, I have sent posts but no answers, long weekend so people are busy. Thanks for trying to help me everyone I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Have you tried any other software with your SDRplay RSP? HDSDR is pretty easy to set up and use. It's possible that this could help determine if it is a hardware or software issue.

Problems with sdrplay and sdruno

Well I am still trying to figure out what the problem is with my setup, I am posting a capture of the windows from SDRuno, I am listening to a FM Station and it's coming perfect, but look at the waterfall, also I am sending a capture when I change from FM radio to one of the other bands to listen to the Ham radio operators and this is what I get in those bands.

200 feet of speaker wire on your balcony? Just how big is your balcony? It doesn't sound like you've got this wire laid out in a straight line. And how are you impedance matching it to your receiver?

The problem is not the several different antenna's I'm using,
