SDRTrunk - multiple RTL-SDRs

I have seen in a Youtube video that if I am going to use multiple RTL-SDR v3 dongles, I need to re-assign a new serial number to the second one. But...when i just plugged both of them in an open USB port on my Windows PC, it seemed to work fine without changing any serial numbers. Will this work, or does it cause problems that I am not seeing from the surface? Running SDRTrunk, listening to Phase 1 system. Thanks!

SDR-Trunk seems to have no issues with multiple dongles running the default serial numbers. Other software requires the change.
