Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. The housing on the scanner has became loose. When screwing or unscrewing the antenna from the scanner it turns about half way then it allows me to tighten the antenna or loosen the antenna.

It's part of the case, not a separate piece. How is it possible fot it to be loose?

The center pin is soldered, but the outer shell is secured with a nut. There's a flat on the shell to prevent rotation, even if both retainer nuts come loose. OP needs to post a video of what he's talking about, because it sounds physically impossible.

If it's the ant that comes with the scanner makes me wonder if the sma on the ant itself is loose and spinning...
I find it hard to believe the SMA on the scanner is broke, unless it was dropped...

Tanks for everybody's reply. What was found was the SMA became loose when I was using the BNC adapter. Every time I would screw and unscrew it from the SMA it would loosen the top nut that holds the SMA in place. Then the bottom became loose as well causing it to spin. I contacted the manufacturer and it was shipped and fixed at no cost.

You can get a "destuffing" tool off Amazon or eBay for about $10 and retighten the SMA retainer yourself.
