SDS 100 cutting out any ideas??

I'm fairly new to the hobby and wonder if I have a setting wrong on my SDS 100. I'm down in Vineyard and listen to mainly UT co Sheriff and Orem PD and Fire off the Utah Co Simulcast site (700mhz). The audio sounds good but about every 2 seconds it cuts out and comes back in so I miss some transmission. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Whelp, figured it out. If close call is on it will keep cutting out.

try monitoring Utah County from Scotts Peak.
I discovered by accident that Scotts Peak gave me great coverage when in Orem.

Close Call and Priority both will cause the scanner to break/skip every 2 seconds when turned on.

I run close call DND (the first setting) and it won’t cut out like that. Only searches CC while scanning instead of on a channel like CC Pri (second setting) does.

why would close call AND priority keep cutting the reception every 2 seconds though? This also happens with older scanners too. Is it supposed to do something, like stay on the channel? Or what?

It needs to pause its scanning to complete the close call search, and needs to pause to check priority channels.

There is only one radio receiver in the scanner so it has to retune (or change modes) away from the current channel to check priority or close call.

weather priority also cuts out every 2 secs to check for weather tones , other things , mostly a setting will cause it to do that. check your settings
