I have programmed my SDS100 with a number of Favorites without any problem; however, when I programed the Indiana State Police Tollroad frequencies (Dist 21), I keep getting "Nothing to Scan." The Quick key will turn it on and off, I've reviewed system, checked sites and departments all show up when I review under Favorites, but still says, "nothing to scan."

Radio Reference has the system as Project 25 Phase I. Indiana State Police Dist 21 is for the Tollroad and I have Law Dispatch and Law Tac turned on. Are you sure they are now DMR for Dist 21? If so, that could explain it.
Thanks,
Monty

It shows DMR for the tollroads in the above link I posted...
It does say the state police can be found on the statwide trunked system though...

You are right about operations on DMR but I've programed State Police Dist 21, which is listed as Project 25 Phase I Digital. Maybe someone can confirm if they have moved to DMR.

If you have “Location” turned on for the favorites list and you are out of range, you’ll also get the nothing to scan.

Location is turned off, and I have Lake Co Simulcast as one of the sites. Even if I can't pick it up, it shouldn't show "nothing to scan."

Does the favorites list have a quick key that is not enabled? If the favorites list has a quick key press the quick key number and then E on the keypad to toggle it on and off. Also, check for avoids.

Please export and attach your favorites file and I will check it for problems. Go to the File tab in Sentinel and Export to hpe file (Favorites List). You will need to right click on the exported file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.

Keep in mind Favorites.System.Department.Channel. Each element needs to be ON for where the channel/frequency is. The Channel doesn't have an on/off, it has an avoid. If you programmed this yourself, it likely got assigned a "Custom 1" Service Type. Whatever service type you've assigned also has to be enabled.

If you programmed this yourself, it likely got assigned a "Custom 1" Service Type.
If you enter the TGID and alpha tag manually without a service type (Tag in the RR database), the service type defaults to Custom 1 and that must be enabled in the profile.

Here is the file. I appreciate your help. I have Illinois State Police and other Districts programed with no problems and went over the check list a number of times now.
Thanks,
Monty

State police Dist 21 is not DMR... From what I see...
Did you load that yourself, or use Sentinel to load it...
If you loaded it youself you may have not loaded any "Sites" to monitor that are close to you... As in no control channel to scan...
I did not look at your file... Just taking a guess here...

Dist21.jpg

This is the statewide system I monitor (Marcs-IP) in Ohio... Notice the "Site" at the bottom of the list on right... This is in Sentinel...

I finally got it working. Thanks to everyone for their prompt and helpful responses. I think the problem was not having a Dept/Site Quick Key activated and also that I was erasing favorites that I should have left alone. I am very appreciative of everyone that posted suggestions. You have all demonstrated that we have a terrific monitoring community!
Thanks,
Monty
