I just received my newly acquired SDS100 and sits alongside my BCD396xt

I live in Perth, Western Australia and I mainly listen to air traffic from our international airport which is about 20 miles from where I live.

I'm trying to find a suitable antenna (plus connectors) that will work on both devices, which will improve the scanners scanning range and ability.

Ive read this thread about antennas and connectors but not sure what the definitive answer is and if the antennas are interchangeable between both scanners.
I've also read about the Yaesu VX-2R antenna and Watson WSMA-881 antennas just to name a few, but I note that some have experienced problems fitting securely and snug because of the recess and 'O' ring seal. Do you have any suggestions?

SMA antennas are problematic because there is no standard regarding how far the SMA connector should protrude from the radio. Fitment has been an ongoing issue for years prior to the SDS100, with people using washers and such as workarounds. Use BNC antennas and the appropriate SMA-BNC adapter and then the only issue youll have is finding a BNC adapter that fits the scanner properly. Once that's sorted, you won't have any issues with antenna fitment.

One of the best BNCs you can get is the Remtronix (Radio Shackl 800mhz) marketed under different names. I have also read somewhere that the Diamond SRH789 is a 'perfect fit' on the SDS100, but I do not recall if it was a BNC or SMA connector, I don't think the OP specified.
