For UPMan:

We are all used to the usual band of vendors, but other than Ham Radio Outlet, were SDS100s shipped to any other vendors in Texas or nearby? With Uniden HQ being in in the DFW Metroplex, I would have expected it to be more readily available than having to go to vendors thousands of miles away like Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio or Massachusetts.

We don't ship to dealers...so I don't have much in the way of direct knowledge on who got what (other than what I've been reading here).

I received an email very late last evening (06-05-2018) from the Main Trading Company in Paris, Texas (zip code 75460) which stated the following:

"Will Have 50 Available at HamCom for Pick up June 8-9-10, Will start shipping the week of June 11. We have 20 more coming in on the 11 or 12 of June"

Here's the direct link to the SDS100 at the Main Trading Company: https://www.mtcradio.com/uniden-sds100-digital-police-scanner/

FYI the Ham Radio Outlet in Plano, Texas is currently showing no stock on the SDS100 per their website: https://www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-016159

I've probably missed something in the Great Amazon Flame War thread, but can you briefly elaborate? How to dealers get radios if Uniden doesn't ship them? Thanks.

Uniden ships to distributors, who then supply the units to dealers.

The distributors are people we've never heard of, right? Trying to understand why some dealers got radios weeks ahead of when others will get them. Thanks.

Vagaries of shipping to different distributors always result in different distributors being a day or two apart on receiving product. High demand product is generally allocated by distributors to their dealers (i.e. dealer orders 200, but might only get 10). Those policies are up to the distributor.

Thanks. It's quite frustrating for customers to order something from a large dealer on May 9 and be told yesterday that it will be another two weeks before the item even ships, when other dealers have them in stock today.
