Cannot for the life of me get my SDS 100 to connect to my laptop. Yes I have .net 2.0 enabled and yes I click E/yes on the SDS when trying to connect. My 996P2 connects right away with the same cable. I even get the chime on the laptop as soon as I connect the 996 but nothing with the SDS. I’m sure this has been asked before but I can’t seem to find what I am looking for. Brand new laptop with windows 11 and I tried ProScan as well as sentinel. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried the cable that came with the 100? And are you using the correct port on the 100? I believe there are 2.
So I’m using the one that came with it as well as the 996 cable. I didn’t think they were cable specific but maybe they are? The port I am using is the charger port which is what the manual said to use. The other port is a different connection and that cable didn’t come with it.

Does the display show 'USB Mass Storage'? If so, can you access the SD card using File Explorer?

Has to be in Mass Storage mode to show up in Windows Explorer...
It looks like an external card reader to the computer then...
How do I get it in mass storage mode? I can’t find that anywhere and I thought you push the E/yes button to get to it but when I do nothing happens.

Plug the scanner with the cable attached into your laptop... With the scanner running...
Watch the display on the scanner... It will prompt you to press the "E" for Mass Storage mode...
If you take to long (Like 10 sec) it will default to Serial Mode... And you will have to do it again...

When you turn on the scanner, do you see 'USB Cable Detected, Select USB Mode'? if you do then press the "E" key. If you don't see it then it could be a scanner, cable, or computer problem. If you have another USB port on the computer, try that.

Bottom line is if the laptop is not chiming when you plug SDS100 in, it doesn't see it...
Something else may be wrong...

I think I figured it out. Got it to activate mass storage but the cable is loose, and it went out of mass storage when the cable moved so I'm thinking the usb port on the scanner is broken. Probably have to send it to be fixed.

FYI:
I've now had 3 Uniden USB port failures myself, so it is not uncommon...
