So I have recently purchased the SDS 200 from the ScannerMaster guys. I live in the Des Moines, Iowa area, and have a premium membership here. Have been programming away for days on end it seems with the Arc536Pro software, and just recently gotten the ProScan software cause I really like its history logging feature it has the best. My problem is this, I see DMPD dispatch has 2 services with them. One on the ISICS P25 system, and a second service on the SaraNetwork P25 Phase II TDMA called DMPD dispatch+ . Are they intermittently using the DMPD dispatch+ on SARA system because I can not receive this frequency today for god knows what reason. Have reprogramed the scanner more than once, and still no luck. Feel like I am such a newbie with this SDS 200

The TGID on the SARA Network just repeats the dispatch TGID on ISICS. If you are JUST wanting City of Des Moines, the ISICS stuff is fine. Westcom (WDM, Clive, Urbandale, Waukee, and Norwalk) is also on ISICS. Polk County and their suburbs (the ones not under Westcom) are on the SARA network.

I would not worry about DMPD Dispatch+ on SARA. It's a patch between systems, and likely it's only active when the Polk County dispatcher activates it, such as when a DMPD car chase heads out into the county and PCSD deputies need to hear the progress of the chase while assisting. Otherwise it would be a needless waste of capacity on the Polk County SARA setup.

As an aside, there was a car chase today coming from Westcom territory up 141, and the PCSD dispatcher patched Westcom Law 1 onto one of their L-TAC channels until the dude was captured near the Polk City exit.

Looks like I found out why I could not receive them anymore. I turned off the interop under Select Services Type and now it works. What a wonder.......

Give this file a try. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted hpd file with ARC536 and Write to scanner.

Thanks for the file, but it is saved as an .rsf file, and I can not use it with Arc536. I must be lacking the knowledge to do that it seems.

Well, I kept messing with it, and finally imported the file as ARC XT into favorite browser . Looked at each site, and they are under service type as aircraft I am seeing. Is that right? There are not a aircraft.

I have tried to receive the Dallas County system also, but with no luck. Are there sites to far away from Des Moines to get with a Sigma SE-1500 Scan King outside of house attached to a oak tree about 20 foot in air. I am besides the Martin Luther king, and Hickman Rd.

Got your file or systems working on my scanner. Looks like my programing I have, but much simpler readouts than what I have done on my scanner. Like it the way you have done it, easer to read on scanner display. I need to start doing that myself on what I have done so far. Thanks for sharing your file with me, and set up. At least I know I am heading in the right direction.

I don't know how it ended up as rsf file. Here is the hpd file again that I opened using ARC536. I do all custom programming using the info in the database.

Testing it out now. Nice scanner display, short, and to the point. Sound seems to be the same level, also. Not different on different channels. So far, 17 channels have been active. About half an hour so far. Looks and sounds good so far. Helps a newbie like me out a lot. Fire alarm is loud, I have to turn that one down some.... lol

Des Moines is not on SARA, that is just a full time patch from ISICS into the SARA system. There really is no reason to mess with that if you're listening to Des Moines talkgroups on ISICS.

" + " in the name means patch on the SARA system
