I haven't seen this before. Can you provide a screenshot of the error message?

That sounds like a Windows Defender message. Is this a new installation?

No, it's been there for a while now, but I have noticed that it will not put in a favorite block i.e. FL 7, I can mark it, in the program, when I upload it, it's not there, then going to manage my favorites' there there, but won't show up, and can't be accessed, even marked on favorite list startup

It says "unauthorized access blocked" with windows security,
I've seen similar security issues popup lately, often a popup that says " Program xxx wants access to yyyy" and then a choice of block or allow and a tick box to make the choice permanent and not ask again. Often it is needed to do a permanent allow but it's too late for the program and I have to restart it again.

That's what I thought, I went in and sent allow, restarted the pc, tried to reload, it just won't load the favorite lists, that are just added, it just does the old favorite lists. I hate the thought of having to dump the program and start again, I have a couple of sds 200's and its doing the same thing to both,

I would suggest you set Sentenial to run as Administrator. Right click the Sentenial icon and select properties. Note the path in the properties for the executable. Use file manager to locate the executable and right click on it. Select the Run as Administrator and see if the program runs OK now.

If it does, use file manager and go back to the file, right click and select properties and (I believe under security tab, but maybe compatibity tab) checkmark Run as Administrator and then it will run that way every time.

I don't really understand what you mean by "current favorite list" and "old favorite list". Are you talking about updating the master database?
Can you provide a screenshot of the error message so we can try to determine the software that is generating that error and any additional info that error message shows.

When using the sentinel software, it will not let me load any of the changes that I have done to the program, when I go into the menu of the scanner and look at my favorites, saved, it will show the new changes, but on the screen of the the scanner itself, it is still the same as it was as the last settings,

When I run the sentinel software, it will not let me save the new group I am trying to save in my new favorites, in i.e. 7, or 5, I did try running the software as admin, no difference, have never had a issue until the last 2 days,

Sorry if this has been posted but did you unplug and replug the USB cable that goes to the scanner and pick YES on the scanner when prompted to put the scanner in MASS STORAGE MODE and then send the data to the scanner?

I'm able to duplicate the problem somewhat. Go to Windows Security - Virus & threat protection - Virus & threat protection settings then click on Manage settings. Near the bottom, you should see Manage Controlled folder access. Look for Controlled folder access. Mine shows Off and I never changed that so that's the default. Yours my be On and Sentinel wasn't added to the exclusion list.
Click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access.

Have you tried a new SD card that has nothing on it? Format the new SD card, set it up using Sentinel and then try writing your Favorites List (old and new) which you say Sentinel knows about to the SD card. It sounds like the problem is on the SD card, maybe something set wrong in the directory or folders on the current SD card.

The exact sequence to use to setup a new SD card has been documented several times in this forum.

I use ProScan for everything, and Sentinel just to update my data base. if you don't have it, you can try it free for 30 day. I highly recommend it.

Do I need to format the new sd card in the scanner or from the pc, also, I have 2 sds 200 , neither will let me change the setting in the scanner, just keeps downloading the same one, I've had the other one for several years now, and can't change the programming in either one, even if it shows in the scanner setting, won't let me set it, even if I do it on the scanner and not the software. I will not let me pull up older saved files, just keeps incorporating the last one,

One other thing to check --- when you attach your SDS200 to your computer, Windows assigns it to a drive such as Drive: E or Drive: F. When you bring up Sentinel and try to write to the scanner, have you checked to ensure that the drive it wants to write to is in fact your SDS200? The pop up box lists the drive Sentinel wants to write to. Sentinel seems to sometimes remember the drive letter for a scanner that was used the last time it accessed a scanner and that may not be the same as the drive that the SDS200 is assigned to this time.

Also, at this point Sentinel basically doesn't have a good way to verify that the drive is a scanner because to Windows it looks like a USB drive and you may have a portable hard drive also attached to your computer and that drive has some type of protection to preventing unauthorized access to the drive.
