Purchased an SDS 200 hoping for improved simulcast performance on the the Charlotte UASI system. However, I am struggling. I have programmed the SDS200 with the latest database info from Radio Reference. When scanning a department (eg: Charlotte Fire) I can pick up the main dispatch (Alarm) fine. However, I do not hear the transmissions on the assigned channels when companies are dispatched. If I put the SDS200 in hold mode and scroll to the appropriate channel I can hear the transmissions of the companies fine. The SDS 200 is just not stopping on the channel as it scans. My 996p2, BCD325p2 and Unication G5 all receive the traffic on the operations channels perfectly siting in the same spot. Looking for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Service Type for the talkgroup enabled? If it's labeled as Fire Talk, and that service type is not enabled you won't receive it. Probably the main dispatch channel is labeled Fire Dispatch and I believe that one is on by default.

Took me a minute to find that setting but you were correct. FIRE TAC was not enabled. Lets see if that fixes it! I think it i going to take me a bit to get used to this scanner...lots of extra "stuff". Much obliged for your help!!

Glad I was able to find this thread. It was driving me crazy why I had full site signal strength, the TG was programmed correctly, my G5 was picking it up perfectly, yet the SDS200 would only stop on the “main” system channels, not TAC. Thanks Guys!
