Look for any 2-amp (2A) usb wall wart, and a usb Micro (not Mini; plug shaped like a hat) to USB-A cord that plugs into the usb socket on the wall wart. These can be bought cheap, often $10 or less.

Also, any cheap USB power bank, as long as it rates to 2 amps, should do. Also, if you haven't yet, get the large internal battery, and battery cover that fits it, if you haven't already! That usually gives you at least 6 hours continuous use on a single charge, plus if you get the external battery charger, it comes with a spare large battery. Worth it, too, though it'll set you back about $60-$70....

It does not matter if using an External Battery Pack, 120 Volt Wall Plug, or 12 Volt Lighter Plug Adapter you still need to use the Factory Cable with the Correct Size Wire and not cheap aftermarket cables.

When using its micro USB connector it only drives the scanner without charging its battery, so you'll only need 800mA to do that and the small current will then have a very low voltage drop whatever cable quality you use. I have a 3 meter long cable of the cheapest quality and haven't had any issues with it.

I charge the battery from the mini USB and then switch to its micro USB to power my SDS100 and the battery are then ready to be used when I take the scanner with me.

The battery will self discharge so I keep an eye on the battery voltage in the display and top it up when it has gone too low.

The micro USB port doesn't export data, so it can't be used with Pro Scan or other software, correct?

It's only the mini connector that have a connection to the CPU. The micro connects to the sub processor, the DSP.
