I would love to get the GPS dongle, but would like to know if it will work on systems only in favorites lists, or do I need to have the full database on for it to work? I have done extensive editing in sevral large systems around me, and would like to use the GPS when traveling in/around those areas without having to have the full database on.

I use mine daily between home and work and specifically use FL. There are several systems on the fringe of my area that I don't want to hear so I trimmed the location range and love the accuracy! A half a mile is huge when you are splitting hairs LOL.

I use GPS all the time on with my SDS200 with systems I programmed myself. Just make sure any system you want to use GPS wih has location control on, the Lat/Long and range programmed.

For the SDS 100 I'd recommend the internal GPS done by a RR User
I would recommend it, too, except that they are now history. I have one in my 100 and it's amazing. JonWienke, the "RR User," has had his problems and he seems to have disappeared.

Buy the BR-355S4 and Uniden cable on Amazon for like $40. They work great on the SDS100. It has a LED so you know what it is doing. Flashing is goodl solid is not. Just becuase the GPS icons shows on the scanner does not mean it is working. Cusomize the display to add LAT and LONG. At least until you get it up and running.
