Hi all. What are the band defaults used for in the sentinel for the sds100? Do they extend the range of reception? I usually listen to vhf, uhf and 800mhz fire/ems analog and p25 digital simulcast. TIA

So no range or signal gain?

Not sure of the specs on the stock antenna or where it resonates but if you’re scanning 3 bands, a tri-band antenna might be more practical.

“The Remtronix REM-842S is a flexible, rubber ducky-style whip antenna that can be used with handheld scanners and portable radios. It's designed to improve reception by 25–100% over factory-standard antennas, but the actual increase can vary depending on the location, topography, and frequencies. The REM-842S is available in different connector versions and can receive and pull in signals across all spectrums. It's compatible with SMA handheld scanners such as the SDS100, BCD436HP, and BCD396XT.”
