To wire a stereo headphone jack for a single external speaker, simply connect the speaker wire's positive lead to the tip of the headphone jack (which usually represents the right channel), and connect the speaker wire's negative lead to the sleeve of the jack (which is the ground) Found this info if, your jack is stereo.

the 325 from the uniden manual,
EARPHONE WARNING! Be sure to use only a monaural earphone with this scanner. You can also use an optional stereo headset. Use of an incorrect earphone or mono headset might be potentially hazardous to your hearing. The output of the phone jack is monaural, but you will hear it in both headphones of a stereo headset.

I have plugged in stereo earbuds (the ones that used to come with Samsung phones) into an SDS100 for years.
I have also plugged in (stereo) Bluetooth adapters.
Sound comes out of both right and left...
And the radio didn't self destruct.

Thanks. I'm just looking for a cable I can connect to a small powered speaker. Can amazon links? to the correct cable for the SDS100. I'm not very tech savy..
