Hey guys,

Wondering if I can get some possible suggestions for help with this, currently actively trying to troubleshoot it myself as well, and will update if I figure it out.

Long story short, I work at a Casino, monitor additional traffic for a quicker heads up from a first-person report.

It is the Jackson Rancheria Casino, which has very limited information on RRDB. There are 3 frequencies with the LCN's being 1, 2, and 3, with all color codes being 5.
TGID's listed as 30, and 4 for both types of Security.

Digging on my own, I've found and named more TGID's for different departments, and gone through a custom search and discovery for more site frequencies - I have found several more, ran the LCN and now have 1-5 instead of the DB's listed 1-3. There is a 6th frequency I'm waiting for the LCN finder to acquire, but I'm currently waiting on a scanner to pick it up.

HERE is my issue - specifically for TG 30, both scanners have issues catching transmissions, I swear I recall not having these issues before with this TG. It's generous to say it catches it 15% of the time, and I can confirm this because it's a channel I use the actually Motorola XPR7550 for.

Is there any possible explanation for this? It picks up every other TGID consistently, and clearly. Aside from waiting for the 6th missing LCN to be acquired, I don't understand why I was able to recieve this clearly in the past, and suddenly it's nearly impossible to now.

Thanks all!

Welcome to the RR forums. I'd wait until all of the missing frequencies & their correct LCNs are determined and test TG 30 again. Per the system change history there haven't been any updates in about 4 years so things could have changed. If you're still catching some transmissions and not others (even when held on the talkgroup) there may be a possibility that the TG may be partially-encrypted (maybe base to units is clear but not units to base?) I know a couple of systems in my area offhand which utilize this mode of ops. Both sides would of course be monitorable on the affiliate radios

I would be speculating but, the channel your picking up 15% of the time may have the 6th LCN set as its perfered LCN. So your only picking up traffic when that LCN is busy and the channel your listening to rotates to a LCN that you have correctly entered.

I'll do a submission at some point, but here's where I'm at.

Of the 3 listed on RRDB, at least 1 LCN was incorrect per multiple runs on the LCN finder. And I've used discovery to identify 4 additional site frequencies.
However I'm having trouble with the LCN finder confirming at least 2-3 of them, however I've gotten hits on them (and yes, CC is 5 as expected, and the traffic was confirmed to be the system I'm working on).

Due to the LCN Finder struggling, I'm going to create 15 separate sites with all 7 frequencies, each through LCN 1-15, and whittle it down slowly from there - catch a transmission, note what frequency is getting the hit and on which LCN I've labeled, write it down. And do that until I get a match of all 7 frequencies with their LCN'S.

Since the last submission is 4 years old, a good chance here additional frequencies were added, LCN's might have been changed to accommodate the new frequencies, an old frequency might have been problematic it was discovered the radio vendor's technicians and changes had to be made. Cap+ has alot of flexibility and since nothing has been modified in the database, you're probably on to something.
