During conventional searches, when stopped on DMR/NXDN systems, the scanner will display system IDs in HEX format. Is there a way to change it to Decimal format?

I was thinking the same. I wish we can choose hex or dec.

Answer to the question in this thread.

both show the same value, just in different formats (HEX vs. DEC). No plans to change at this time.

Looks like that setting only affects talkgroup IDs. Shame that on P25/Motorola systems, the ID is displayed in decimal, but DMR/NXDN is displayed in HEX.

They should fix that or make it selectable.

If Paul and the Uniden crew want RR users who are using their DMR/NXDN scanners to actually populate the RRDB (ya know, that service Uniden relies upon) with legitimate information, then they need to change it to decimal so we are working with decimal across the board and there is no confusion whatsoever.

Such a simple thing to need changed for Paul to just suggest they have no plans of changing it. Nobody is asking them to make a firmware update to turn it into a waffle maker.

This is useless info but relevant to this topic. And I may regret this but..... in my experience with programming various DMR radios from the cheaper Chinese types to Motorola and Hytera I myself have never seen hex used for DMR stuff. Which would make me wonder about Uniden’s choice to make that the format it would display.

I've worked with many Motorola systems and have never seen them being refered to in decimal, it is always hex numbers in system id's in the professional world and most other places like decoding softwares. So I am a bit surprised that RRDB defines all of them by decimal numbers and even more surprised that when Uniden correctly use hex in system id's for DMR they instead choose to use decimal in Motorola/P25. Crazy.

I occasionally run a Discovery on my local system to check for new TG's or Frequencies that may have been added. This last week I had a new TG show up with 300 seconds of recordings several times. When I tried to listen to the recordings, it stated No Recordings Available. Just wondering what kind of TG this is. Could it be a new Encrypted TG or has anyone else seen this before? Another new TG had recordings that played properly during the same Discovery. Discovery was done on two 536 scanners with same results.

It happens like that if it is a datatransmission, maybe GPS positions or text messages being sent, or perhaps even an encrypted TG, if you are in non-scan mode

That's what I was thinking. Just haven't seen this in the 5 years I've been running discoveries on these latest scanners (x36,SDS100) from Uniden.
