Can’t see the sds100 screen in the car, wish there was a way to mirror the screen to my iPhone.

would be nice if there was some device that would Wireless serve the screen to mobile devices

SDS200 and Siren is as close as you'll get with an iPhone.

Related. My Toyota Entune system has a nice-sized screen. What would it take to have the SDS100 screen info displayed? Not talking touchscreen operation, just simple display.

It ain't gonna happen. There's no known interface to connect the systems and you probably don't have an external input to your vehicle screen, anyway.

There is an external video input for the vehicle's backup camera, and some signaling -- 12 VDC ? -- when the transmission is in reverse.

I don't know what the input video voltage is but I'd be willing to bet it's not 12 VDC and it's probably hard-wired. Even so, how will you get the "video" out of the scanner. They're two distinctively different pieces of electronics designed to do two different things. The compatibility factor is 0 and that's being generous.

Did not mean that the input video voltage was 12 VDC, just that some voltage input causes the display to switch to whatever is connected to the video input, as it does when the car is in reverse and the backup camera video is displayed.

My BCD396XT's serial port output is incompatible with my laptop's USB ports, unless I use an adapter with a FITI or Prolific chipset.

I see posts where individuals are working on a remote head. What I was hoping for is simpler, no additional display screen required and no touch screen functions.

Guess I can always point a small camera at the SDS100 display, connect the video output to my car's backup camera video input and install a switch to provide the correct signalling voltage. Not elegant, but functional.

Let us know how it works out.

Is there software for the Uniden that allows direct or remote computer control/viewing? If so, a $100 Windows tablet PC should work as a display, or at least start to give you options to port a mini or micro HDMI output to convert it to analog for input on your display screen.

I'm wondering if this could also be a possible solution for the OP fdnyfish. I use Chrome Remote Desktop on an iPhone to control various PC's. I'm not sure about the scaling as I do not know what software for Uniden is available. Again, using the tablet directly may be a better and bigger viewing solution while avoiding the need for Internet connectivity.

I do something similar now with RS/GRE/Whistler scanners, cables and a Windows computer at the house. I can remotely access them with the Windows 500 client program, or the Android Suite, or my iPhone via Chrome Remote Desktop as noted above. With this in mind, it would seem plausible for Uniden. I am just not experienced with software for Uniden scanners to confirm.

Curious how all of that would be superior/preferable to simply looking at the actual screen ?

I find it difficult, and dangerous, to see the 1 1/2 inch SDS100 screen when it is sitting in my console's cup holder, while driving.

I would prefer to have the SDS info displayed on my car's 5 inch screen, just below dashboard height.

Currently, the car's display is static with the info that an auxiliary audio source -- the SDS100 -- is connected.

If my car was equipped with a GPS system that used the display screen, that would be another story.

Granted, would be cool if that was possible - And certainly do not allow yourself to be distracted by that screen or anything else while driving.
