The protective cover over the "FCC ID" label on the back of my SDS100 has started to come off. As a result, the printing on the label has started to dissolve and the area around the label is quite sticky. I'm thinking that this is due in part from heat generated by the scanner as well as heat from my hand during repeated hand-programming and hand-held operations. Anyone else have this problem? Are replacement labels or back covers w/attached labels available? Thanks in advance!

I have a similar issue with my SDS100 and I do believe it was caused by the heat build up of the unit. Mine hasn't gotten to the point of where you are at, but unsure if Uniden would send a replacement label.

The certification labels are ONLY required when sold new. They are not required to be "permanent" or even long lasting.

And the SN/ESN can be gotten electronically in the menu system.
