Hello all!
I recently purchased an SDS100 and have a question about interference with different antenna types. Using the stock rubber duckie and also the Diamond RH77CA, I get constant interference on a UHF channel 451.3000 and, oddly, the associated input channel (I think?) of 456.3000 at 3 bars of reception. When I switch to my attic mounted antenna, the interference stops. To test that it's interference from the antenna, I took the scanner with me today and drove about 20 miles from home. There I still get the interference with the same indicated 3 bars of reception.
Frequencies between 451.3 and 456.3 do not have this same problem.
The attic antenna is a basic discone with something like 100 feet of RG-6 feeding into an Electroline zero-loss splitter.
The frequency in question is licensed to a local business as DMR that I'd like to monitor so I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
I have video of the sound of the interference and can try to figure out how to upload if that would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
