Yep, but don't count on airband enthusiasts and railfans grabbing up SDS's. Far cheaper alternatives for that spectrum.

I was just illustrating a point that soon that will be about all they are good for - And the demand will drive the used pricing

Got home from 6 days on the road and opened up my new sds100, updated the database and firmware. Everything works as it should & I like everything about it except one thing & that's the antenna connector. Don't expect to be able to use very many antennas. I ordered the remtronix antenna with it and it's a great fit but my Diamond RH77CA is a no go. Kinda figured that would be the case, but the remtronix is working fine. All in all I'm glad I bought it.

Use the SMA to BNC adapter, that came with the scanner, so that you can use the RH77CA. I use the Remtronix model specifically made for the SDS100 around town, but when I venture out to a rural area about 100 miles away, I use the adapter so that I can utilize a mag mount antenna on my SUV, or a RH789.

Doubting that, most folks don't spend $600+ on a whim. What will feed the used market is encryption, which will be great for people who monitor aircraft and trains
I guarantee it... Also look for a flood of freezers, retailers couldn't keep them in stock -

If anyone is still looking for an SDS100 I talked with Bearcatwarehouse Uniden Online Store - Bearcat Warehouse on the phone about 45 min ago and was told they recently listed the units as in stock on their site. The lady on the phone said they'll be receiving them today and expect to be shipping some by tomorrow that don't require programming.

Keep in mind I've never done any business with them before so can't speak on the reliability of the information I received or their customer service yet. I just thought I'd pass on the info for anyone interested.

I'm in the same boat, replacing a Pro-106. If bearcatwarehouse is a decent company, I can go with them. Was waiting for stock to arrive at scannermaster.

I ordered my SDS100 from HRO on June 1st, got an email from their headquarters that they were backordered, but. more were expected by the end of the month. Got a call from the Anaheim store that they'd received enough to satisfy my order, and it would be shipped ASAP. Got the shipping notice and a tracking number a few minutes ago. So I guess they are trickling in! Looks like quite a steep learning curve ahead, so we'll see how I do. Lots of good info in here!

End result with ZipScanners I Canceled My Order after speaking with a woman named Sam at ZipScanners I asked her the status of my order that I placed May25th 2020 and she stated that all orders were being worked on, I asked her if she could give me a yes or no that my orders would be sent out this week and she could not. I told her that I wanted to cancel my order and requested a refund on my card she said she would process the credit, No Apologies that they could not get my Item that I paid for over 3 weeks ago (very poor customer service)
I feel that I was very patient with ZipScanners and they left me no choice but to cancel my Order that I place May25th and still did not received as 6/16/2020 Over 3 weeks later, Buyers Beware. Wasted 3 weeks and have to start looking for the SDS 100 all over again I have a call into Scanner Master hopefully they would like the business.

Did you request programming on your SDS? I ordered mine on the 26th (no programming) and received it yesterday. Programming adds some time to the order according to their website. Not defending them, but my experience was OK. It did take longer than expected though.

I originally placed an order with Ham Radio Outlet. Their web site does not show if an item is in stock or not. The next day I was called and told it would be several weeks and offered to cancel my order. I accepted. Then I went to the web sites of any place I would do business with and signed up to be notified when they would be in stock. About a week later ScannerMaster sent me an email. It was probably an hour before I got to their web to place my order, and by then, they were again out of stock. I re-signed the list to be notified.

I had a discussion with HRO who, at that time, indicated they were expecting a shipment in on June 1. So I placed an order. It couldn't have been a couple of days later when I received another email from Scanner Master. This time I didn't wait and placed my order. That unit was quickly shipped.

Now it's been over a month and I contacted HRO again. Shipment due next week, but they could cancel my order again. It does seem that some vendors are either getting priority or ordering/receiving larger quantities than others. I think if someone were to place an order today cold turkey (not already in a queue/etc), it would be after July 4th before they receive a unit.

Thanks, good info. Do you know if HRO are shipping with the larger battery? Because the photos on their website imply they are not.

It does come with the large battery. Loaded my zip code into it and started scanning, everything seems to work. Now I have to learn all about programming this beast. My old Radio Shack scanners were sure simpler, but those were simpler times, too.

Other than the initial production run when the scanner was first released, every SDS100 since that time (starting before the fall of 2018) has shipped with the larger battery. Obviously, HRO is still using the original photos.
