I started it up and have an 8gig SD card in it, I went and installed the Sentinel software and made favorites. But when I go to write to Scanner the window opens and doesn't show the SD card to write to. Does it need to be allocated or something? I've scoured all over and can't see to find any reference to it. I've seated and reseated the card and it still doesn't show up. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

If you are trying to write from Sentinel to a new (or newly formatted) SD card, Sentinel won't recognize the card until you use the "Clear User Data" function in Sentinel on that card.

Check the box that says "display all drives" when using "Clear User Data" on a new (or newly formatted) card. Select the card reader drive and finish the process.

if you don’t have any luck with that, try another new, or known good SD card, or download and use this utility to format your card.

If Sentinel still doesn’t recognize the card reader when you check the “display all drives” box, you may have hardware problems with the card reader or it’s cable.

See if this helps. This often comes up.

When one first plugs in the SDS100 to the computer, one must push the E/yes button on the front of the scanner to put it into Mass Storage mode. I realize this is obvious to the experienced folks, but if you aren't watching, the scanner moves on to serial port mode.

Ok well I'm getting closer. I did an SD card swap, is now that is getting me to the error "use Sentinal for clear user data" but Sentinal is still not showing the SD card when I check Display all drive and then refresh.

So I tried pushing the E/yes as it was starting up before it got to the error and nothing, I tried a long push of the E and still goes to the error, then I unplugged the USB cable and tried it unplugged and then started it up and same issue.

Its driving me nuts I mean its relatively simple, thanks for all the help guys.

I got it!!! Seems the USB port labeled "Charge" is also the programming port. I was using just the other port. WOW I couldn't see the forest through the trees.

Thanks again guys!

Yes, question kinda on-subject (ports) for Mr JoeBearcat.......

All those nice unused ports on my 200....
I know you can't give specifics, but we'd just like to know if just maybe we'll see functionality out of these some day??

Buried somewhere in his long "Help me help you" thread, Joe commented that they were trying to determine what the late UPMan had in mind for those ports, along with possible items for the x36HP series.
