Wow. I wish I could find such a deal.

I still want one. Maybe next year when things settle down.
As the big E starts taking over, I'm sure the market may open up from the hobby crowd. That's exactly how I got one of mine, fellow couldn't hear anything any more and just decided to do aircraft, marine and railroads and such with the other stuff he had.

I actually monitor marine and aircraft (civilian and military) quite a bit, especially on vacation when I am near much more activity. The Florida keys are very active with marine traffic and military aircraft. Also medical helicopters fly up and down the keys going back and forth to Miami. I will have plenty of things I am interested if E happens here.

Honestly that one came of FB market place. We met in person both drove some distance to meet and it was a great experience.
That was a huge stroke of luck. I am going to be patient and see if something turns up.

This can be a very sketchy move. Most say never to trust anonymous in-person meetings when buying something online.

Yes, it can be sketchy to go shopping at a store these days too. Common sense, good communication, and meeting at the right place helps. Even though I'm 70, I'm not quite the senile old man yet.

Best to meet in a public place, such as inside a mall or even better in front of a police station.
Yep. Although, in the business I'm currently in, myself and my wife are in potential customers homes 7-10 times a month. Often they're as leery of us as we are them in the beginning. One day who knows what might happen but then again, things can happen anywhere. We did meet in a public place however for the pager hand off .

I don't think I'd ever want to meet in a mall for cash transaction however, at least not the one close to us here. I have certain criteria when meeting people to ever give or receive cash, any deviation from what I feel good about (or even them) we either change the plan or just cancel the deal.

Or do so by mail/parcel delivery. Meeting in an unsecured place invites danger!
I do what I feel comfortable with. I don't recommend anyone else do any differently. If you're leery of meeting someone in person, then don't. Simple as that. Thanks for your concern however, it may be good advice in a lot of different situations. Not long ago, some folks the next town over were gullible enough to have someone come to their home and that did not end well.
