Hey everyone,

I'm a bit new at this, but I'm trying to decide between the Uniden SDS100 or BCD436HP. I live in Fairfax County, VA. Looking at Fairfax County (P25) Trunking System, Fairfax, Virginia - Scanner Frequencies it seems like the area uses simulcast. And from what I understand, the SDS100 does better with simulcast than the BCD436HP.

But there's a ~$200 price difference.

Can anyone in the Fairfax County area advise if the BCD436HP works well or if I'd need the SDS100?

Much of this will depend on where you live relative to the sites. If you live between several you will more likely have simulcast issues.
If you live on the outskirts / edge of the system and only have 1 tower near you then you are less likely to have simulcast issues.
But if you travel within the system then you increase the chances of simulcast issues.
Safe bet is the SDS100.
