SDS100/SDS200: SDS100 recording of DMR Signal

Can anyone upload a sample of DMR signal as recorded in analog form (ie. the digital buzz). I want to know if DSD+ can decode it.

I think what he is saying is that you need unprocessed audio and you can't get that from a SDS recording.

I believe you can if you program as analog only. Just tested on my county garage DMR system.

Yes but the actual .wav or .mp3 file as extracted from Sentinel.

I would like to run the file through DSD+ and see if it can decode.

I can play the .au file from PSR-800 using virtual audio cable to feed into DSD+ and it can decode it just fine. I repeated the same experiment with BCD436HP and DSD+ was not able to decode. Probably due to difference in how Uniden encoding the file

The PSR-800 has a way you can turn on a discriminator tap so you can get the raw unfiltered audio that DSD+ needs for proper decoding. Not sure if the Uniden can do that.

If I remember right the PSR800 PRO18 PRO668 and newer WS scanners all send discriminator audio out of the headphone ports if turned on in the scanner as IF/DATA

Yes, it's a nice feature of Whistler scanners. You don't have to open the scanner and solder stuff. Discriminator audio comes included as a feature with a menu setting.

Unless there has been a recent change, back when I was using Pro96Com, it wasn't decoding signals but instead just the CCDump data from the scanner. To do other protocols they would need to either decode the actual signal or the scanner would need to output the DMR/NXDN data.
