I'd like it better if it had an onboard Bluetooth transmitter.
The mini USB marked charge are connected to the main CPU and you can read and write to the scanners SD card. The micro USB are connected to the sub CPU/DSP and cannot charge or program the scanner but it can power it and read and write to the sub CPU. There's a PC program for the micro USB that displays a bandscope over the frequency range the sub CPU handles, something like a 2,5MHz bandspread.Hey whats the difference between USB1 and USB2 Marked Charge?
Oh wow thank you so much..I was wondering because Windows 10 would not find the COM Port with the Micro Attached and required the USB B CHARGE PORT to be used to put the scanner into Mass Storage Mode. I have yet to find a way with ARC BUTEL Pro to put it into remote operation for logging reliably..its just errors out. Hesus I have heard the Unication is a bear to program too...the SDS100 takes some getting used to and I for damn sure am going to give it a try before I throw in the towel. I have my 325P2...and its got the Provoice Upgrade..it will do 99% of what the SDS100 without the sweetness of the multi path signal ability. Truth be known I am a big aviation monitor..and between the XL-125 and the 325P2..SDS100 complexity is not really needed. I feel like the way the memory is accessed and stored is really the issue. The 325P2 is way easier to deal with, the software and the interface with RR database is intuitive. I have yet to be able to make more than 1 favourites list correctly..Instead of a seperate folder the SDS 100 is Nesting another system below the favourite 0 or 1 list I am able to create...I keep trying..I have a large data set to avoid loading and pulling putting the second system I want to access as a seperate favorite list is giving me grief..Yes, there is always the G5...... WHat the SDS 100 shoulda and coulda been if Uniden really put the time into proper design....
As for the SDS200, they hit close to a home run, despite some early technical glitches.
Had an SDS 100 and sold it. if and when I find the need for a portable that performs as a portable,
I will go for a G5....
Thank you I will see what I can do..I am cross platform running a Mac with Windows 10..so..the issues can be numerous and arcaneYou have to download the serial driver for the SDS100/BCD436HP they are the same driver.

I have not had a look at Proscan. I bought ARCBUTEL PRO for the P2 and have been really happy with itYou can use PROSCAN and the RR Database just the same as the 325P2.
Yes well technically its possible I can run both systems and it worked reliably with the 325P2...I am struggling a bit with Sentinel..and even the ARCBUTEL VERSION is not really any better. I may download Proscan and see how it goesSorry have no help with a MAC.
Windows is renowned for NOT being able to find things like that, comparable to "He couldn't find a wounded elephant in five feet of fresh snow." I have an HP with Windows 10 that likes to ignore SD cards when they're inserted (as well as locating COM ports).Oh wow thank you so much..I was wondering because Windows 10 would not find the COM Port with the Micro Attached and required the USB B CHARGE PORT to be used to put the scanner into Mass Storage Mode. Sentinel is actually a relatively simple program and will run on virtually any computer with Windows. I was running it on a 10-year-old Acer Netbook. I like the motorhome in your profile photo..I am looking at getting a 40ft Diesel pusher to replace my 28 Foot Glendale.. American Eagle, Triple E, Monaco...or Allegro Bay...Cummins preffered with the Allison.. 2nd hand because new would hurt too muchWindows is renowned for NOT being able to find things like that, comparable to "He couldn't find a wounded elephant in five feet of fresh snow." Um I would consider it but for now I want to deal with only 1 system. I only really need rarely. I will update the internal database 2 times a month unless there is a firmware or other reason. Once I have things set up I will leave it be. I just need to get it set up properly just one time..and I'll use the 325P2 and it side by side for a while. RIGHT NOW i gave the 325P2 to a friend to force me to deal with the SDS100 so I have no choice.Sentinel is actually a relatively simple program and will run on virtually any computer with Windows. Would this device work as a scanner for listening to my local PD and FD (Wakefield, MA) and the system that the MA State Police uses?
I would seriously get a used SDS 100/200..I found a person who was not enchanted with the radio..there are lots of them out there. If I can't live with this..it will be up for sale..right now its running 1 list and doing it well..EDACS conventional..but thats not what its supposed to be good for..I would get a 325P2 first and get a Provoice or NXDN upgrade DMR depending and play with that for a while..SDS100 is the future..but I am hoping they do some good upgrades in the future to make the radio more friendlyHello everyone.
Before spending $700 on the SDS radio I have been learning as much as I can here at Radio Reference, reading manuals, watching YouTube etc. Every so often I see Unication G5 mentioned; I went to the Unication site but I am still not certain what it does.

I would have already bought the SDS 100, but, the numerous comments here on Radio Reference, other scanner sites and YouTube about cost, complexity and overall robustness of the radio is a concern.
If anyone is knowledgeable about this, please comment.
Take care,
Kevin
Unication is a PAGER that can be programmed to act like a radio scanner.
