I only get 1 per few hours. Last week there was more. Its also because I was told it's simulcast so more frequencies involved.

You should pick up alot more ems and fire. I'll let you know if there's a fire call when I hear it on my phone.

Delete from scanner - Download into Sentinel a new download of the database - upload to scanner.

In other words - start fresh

I give up.... I just cleared user data and data settings. Went back to scan. Got the static with "Nothing to Scan"

Went to zip code entry. Then to scan. Absolutely nothing except the occasional long distance static.

Thanks. I saw you live near me. I can't figure out what changed in the scanner last Thursday or Friday or in Sentinel that I did and transfered a bad file.

You cant turn on service types manually. They automatically get set when you select a list to scan.

Maybe we can meet up at some point and you can look at the scanner.

Pete
You can turn them on or off manually in the scanner. But if you try to turn on, in the scanner, and it won't change, then that service type is not enabled in your Sentinel profile, so that channel or talkgroup was not written to the scanner's copy of the Favorites list.
Don't know if this means anyth7ing but when I choose WX Operation and select Weather Scan all I get is constant static as I rotate thru each Channel
That's not good. Make sure your squelch is not set too high. I find that "2" is usually the best choice for me.

When you "cleared user data", that wiped out the location information. Be sure that your correct location is set both on the scanner as well as in your Sentinel profile.

Ok I'll give it a shot.

Ok. Completely cleared out scanner. Deleted all favorites lists on sentinel (even the ones I paid for. Updated Master Database on sentinel. Then wrote updated clean Database to scanner. Then started to scan. Said Nothing to Scan. Went to set location by zip code. Started scan and it started scanning most of the state. Lol

Then only got occasional bit of static. Was from towns not near me so I avoided to move on. It's been scanning now for over 15 minutes and Nothing.....

Thank you but the zip files you posted for disappeared. When I went to my laptop to open them they were gone. Now they aren't on my phone either!????

Are you referring to the two on my direct message? or the one I posted several days ago.

Hey Dr, you out there lol?

Well I restored everything from scratch and not any better. I dug out my 92xlt and it picks up the fire calls correctly and nothing on the 100. I.m at a loss. Had a couple DMs with Steve from this feed and he suggested that maybe you and I should meet up some and put our heads together.

Otherwise I probably gotta just send it to Uniden since its I've only had it 2 months.

Again thanks for all your help and patience. Especially the patience.

It sounds like there's something wrong with the scanner. I'd return it while it's under warranty.

IF you have the proper service types turned on AND entered your ZIP code there's no reason it shouldn't receive what you're looking to hear.

Sorry 'bout that. Good luck! (y)

It's definitely NOT a hardware problem if manually holding on a channel picks up traffic, but regular scanning does not.

I wanna thank everyone for their help and patience. Things still aren't right. Something is off.

So I decided to send it back to Uniden. Hopefully they will fix it or send me a new one.

I'll let everyone know my outcome.

I predict they tell you nothing is wrong with the scanner and send it back to you without doing anything to it. If you receive when you manually hold on a channel you can't hear otherwise, that 100% rules out a hardware problem.

Well I told everyone I would respond with whatever Uniden found when I sent it in for repair. So here it is. It took 8 weeks.

"Cold Solder Joint"

It least it proves I wasn't nuts.

Glad it's working for you know. Hopefully, Uniden is working towards making cold solder joints a thing of the past/
