SDS100 Small battery - order?

I know this is from Europe, but I love the small battery on my SDS100 (I have a charger nearby 90% of the time I use it, and don't want to use the obtruse large battery) so I went 'huntin for a possible replacement, and came upon this.

Could there be small batteries still available?

Looks like you found a source in Europe. I was going to stick with the smaller battery the radio first shipped with but it didn’t look like Uniden was interested in continuing the small one in the US. So I bought the external charger and a spare large battery (to go with the larger one they sent out upon request). If you decide to give the European supplier, let us know how you make out. I imagine there’s a tariff on them however.

I hope that the problem with the small battery has been fixed. It had a bad habit of popping open. There were numerous reports of that on the forum, including mine. At their request, I sent the battery back to Uniden for inspection and they replaced it with a large one..

3600mAh is the big battery

I doubt they continued production of the small ones when they switched to the big battery for all shipping radios

Definitely interested (If it'll work in SDS100)

The small battery was 3600 mah The large one is 5400 mah.

Voltage and mah numbers say it’s a match but there’s another parameter that reads 13.32 Wh. That number does not match what’s on the European distributers description page for the small battery. Does this parameter relate to the physical size of the battery? If so, either there is a miss-print in the description (the distributor also has on their website a disclaimer about mistakes. Ex: they show the same pic for both the 3500mah and 5400mah battery. They suggest contacting them about suspected discrepancies.

Bottom line, until someone actually checks with the distributor, we are in the dark. For all we know at this stage of the game the listing may be an old one and the small battery has been discontinued. I’d like to believe they have updated their website since July 2018 (when the SDS100 was released in the US) but you never know for sure until you ask. It could be a very old offering that’s since been discontinued. My guess is this is the case... the small battery is not available And hasn’t been for some time. My reasoning behind this is its hard to believe a battery was available for almost two years and nobody picked up on it. Here’s hoping I’m wrong.
