SDS100/SDS200: Sds100 sxanner skipping transmissions

Hi my sds100 is skipping transmission on a ndxn truck system when the dispatch says something but units I am not picking up anything

So.. What system is it? What is your state, County, local town? We need to know is it a type D or type c, what are the frequencies? Single-site multi-site? Plenty of experienced people to help you here, my experience with Uniden and their licensed nxnd upgrade is it works pretty well, much better than Brand X.

So I looked up your location on your profile, Coffee County Alabama? NX 96?

Could be missing frequencies? inaccurate LCNs? How far away are you from the TX site? Link to system in question is here. I assume you're monitoring site 9?

I am very close to site 9 live right next to it

And you're not scanning any site other than 9? Since you're right next to the TX site have you tried running LCN finder to verify the LCN's are entered into the DB correctly? Menu > Analyze > LCN Finder. If the system is busy it should find all 5 relatively quickly

I hear dispatch but sometimes I don't hear units I checked they are ot encryption

Are you on Hold of the Site or System when you experiance this or are the problem that it continous to scan and you do not catch the reply?

If it starts to scans then set a higher TG delay time, 10 sec, to have the scanner wait longer for the reply and see what happens then.

Set the display to show Noise and D-Error. Set Hold on the Site and watch the numbers of the Noise level and bit errors when there are conversations or sitting on the control channel. It could be another transmitter that interfere with the scanners reception so that the squelch closes and the scanner thinks it has lost the signal. You could try different filter settings and IFX to hopefully get rid of a potential interference.

So it's Ben right? I have been looking into the situation, as I said, I feel the Uniden nxdn upgrade works pretty good for me... you have gotten some good replies here but I think your problem is the radio is probably not programmed correctly for this system. Just by reading your initial question, it's a pretty loaded question LOL, this has turned out to be quite a Pandora's Box once you actually look into it.

I read the Alabama State forum and saw the multiple posts regarding this system and the confusion surrounding it, I stopped reading going back to the fall of 2020 and it would appear the last thread regarding the system in late March there was still no resolution. There has been a lot of talk about having it fixed in the database but never heard one post from your database administrator. Before they will change the database it's got to be confirmed and clearly understood that it is correct and I'm not sure you guys are there yet.

There's talk of the enterprise system? Then integrating the new system? The new system being a nxdn system from a private radio shop S&P Communications?

There was also talk of encryption of cars only? On the old system or the new system? Was your database administrator ever notified and were the changes confirmed and made? Nailing down this system isn't going to be easy. You might be missing frequencies etc. Any research you do trying to look up frequencies etc, this system looks like it's license to J & P Communications not Coffee County.

If I can make a suggestion, this company looks like it does more than just radios which is never a good sign but they work with the trucking industry also, try giving Jay Spurlin a call at 334 493 6729 and see if he will talk to you about the system, you never know. He runs the business.

Nevertheless, this just impresses me as being a programming issue and not having all the proper information in the database. It might be as simple as encryption. That's all I've got. Keep at it on the Alabama State forum.
