How do I get the scanner to display unit ID names that I have stored in the scanner. I have unit IDs stored, just doesn't display the name still the number.

You will need to program the display.
I use Sentinel to customize the trunking display.

I'm not talking about trunking channels IDs. I'm talking about individual unit IDs that pop up on the display in detail mode. It seriously annoys me when I have to explain myself to get an answer.

May want to scale back on the attitude a little bit there, Buster.

As other have stated, you have to customize the display parameters. You need to select "Unit ID Name" for one of the fields.

Question? Did you read your mail manual? If so you would have found your answer on page 35. Happy hunting!!! The manual makes for good reading material.

Start Sentinel like you normally do, with your scanner.
(I normally read from the scanner before I make any changes).

Select the Edit menu

Then Select Display from the Edit Menu (Can also just do Control+3)

Select either Simple or Detail Trunk tab

Select the 'block" that you want to change
(You will NOT be able to change the three Main fields, System, Department, Channel, since they link to the soft menu keys).

Select what you want the field to show (In this case Unit ID Name)

Change the colors if you like

Change any other fields that you want

Exit the Edit menu

Select Yes when prompted to save the changes

Write to the scanner

Select Scanner Menu

Then select Write to Scanner from the Scanner Menu (or Control + W)

I also just discovered that you can do it on the scanner too.
Press the Menu button on the scanner
Scroll to and select the Display Options menu item using the "Multifunction Scroll" knob and "enter" (either depress the scroll knob or press the E key).
Scroll to and select Customize from the menu
Choose which display mode you want to change
Scroll to and select the block that you want to change (still can't change the linked menu items)
Press enter
Select Option Item
should be the menu that shows up, select that.
Scroll to and then select the field that you want to display.
You can change the colors.
You can press the menu button repeatedly to return to scanning (I also learned in another post yesterday that you can just press avoid and it will return).

I got it thanks everyone!

Using Sentinel, first go to the tools tab. If SDS100 or SDS200 is not selected as the target model, the edit display option will not be available.
