I will pose this question mainly to those who own both the SDS-100 & 200. Over all is there any difference in performance between the 100 & 200? I do realize the SDR architecture is virtually identical But I also know that sometimes the base units are better than their portable counterparts. I.e. sensitivity, VHF & UHF conventional analog receive, audio, repair history, etc, etc. I'm wondering if the extra 50 bucks is worth it. I do like the portability of the 100 but not a deal breaker.

The extra cost isn't for a different/better receiver, it's for the network streaming, bigger screen, and more powerful audio amp and speaker.

I have both and they are programmed the same.
When I put both on my shared antenna system STRIDSBERG the both receive the same VHF UHF 700/800 signals. The only difference is 100 portable 200 base with network port. Before anything else they both hear just as good as my 15x's 996P2's and 536's on the same antenna system.

Thy are the same scanner . I like the handheld better . I get the base unit and I sent it back because it the same scanner just bigger and it a base unit . Not worth the extra 50 bucks .I have the bcd536hp already .

It all depends on whether the bigger screen and streaming capability is of value to you.

They.re not the same radio. The different case, AC instead of DC, antenna etc will make them a little different. UHF is far better on the SDS200 on far away signals for example.

I have run mine neck and neck in a comparison test on the same Remtronix antenna and they were identical in performance. Audio slightly better on 200. Obviously bigger display screen on 200. You can't go wrong with either one.

Gee, I guess I need to turn my SDS 100 on once in a while....That being said the 200 has better sound and display. Recieve wide they are pretty much on par.
