Not sure, but the audio chain up to the final amplifier is completely different between the two models. Likely will be some differences.

Ok, Fort Worth Regional Radio System Layer 1 is very boring (at least from 7-8 AM). I suspect most of the traffic, here, is encrypted, as in 1h17m of recording, only 5m of audio captured. Route was from Kennedale, across on I20 to 360, up 360 to 183 (20 minute pause at Starbucks at Trinity/360), 183 to 161 to Belt Line to the office on Gateway.

What audio was received was heavily in favor of the SDS100. The middle section where both were working was around the 360/Trinity area.

When is the SDS200 desktop/mobile version coming?
A handheld isn't doing it for me.

That would awesome. Large display, large controls, large speaker, at least the size of the old BC9000XLT/BC895-XLT. It would be a BIG HIT! People have been asking this for years.

I'd sign up for something like that really fast. I'd love to have a desktop model with the old 9000/895 form factor!

Listening to it, now, there are some blips and bloops where decoding wasn't perfect on the SDS100. But, keep in mind that the signal was so bad the 436 decoded absolutely nothing.

Overall the SDS audio is superb. Any idea as to what those blips and bloops might be attributable to? Really bad simulcast distortion, other types of RF interference, etc? If I understand the technology right, the I/Q demodulator should address all simulcast issues, but some imperfections might still arise from other interference. Is this understanding correct?

It is, you can even have that happen on a system radio

I have an SDS for evaluation, on a Harris Simulcast P25 system it's fair getting about 70% of traffic , on a Harris P2 simulcast it is just as deaf as my 436, I see comms come up on the screen on both un decoded,, very poor range on stock antenna as compared to my G5, but when you hit scan that's when it really deteriates, it fails to stop scanning on traffic 90 % of the time just like the 436 does on phase 2 systems, the SDS does it on all but analog, so if I hit scan I get mostly our 1 analog system,. Pretty disappointing, but I know I can save my $650 Now

Drumbum, I live in Spotsylvania Va and their system is Harris too. I was having problems receiving transmissions other than the dispatcher on the control channel, but since the Beta firmware that Upman provided, I'm pretty sure that I'm receiving all transmissions. Huge difference.
