If while scanning and I select "Avoid" then press again and it says "permanent" avoid, is this permanent avoid only valid during this scanning session and then it is no longer a permanent avoid when the scanner is turned off and back on?

Not sure if this is by design because after turning the scanner back on, the "permanent" avoid is gone.

Thanks!

It will be a permanent even if you turn radio off and on again. It will also show red in Sentinel to let you know that it is being avoided.
Ok.....seems like after turning it back on it comes back. I don't see any "Red" (avoid) in Proscan but that should show the same as Sentinel correct?
Also using Proscan, by hitting avoid on the gui that should do the same as phsically being at the scanner.....correct?

Thanks!

After you hit avoid 2 times, to create a permanent avoid, did you read the scanner into Proscan or Sentinel?

As long as you then write to the scanner, yes.

That's one thing I'm not sure of. When I turn off the scanner it writes to the SD card so I didn't think I need to do the "Scanner Write". I figured that was if I wasn't turning it off. Sorry still learning while I have the time :(

If you change something in the scanner, the software won't know until you do a "Read from Scanner". If you change something in the software, the scanner won't know until you do a "Write to Scanner". Or you have to make the change in both places.
