SDS200 Backlight

Have a new SDS200. Is there a way to keep the backlight on whenever the unit is on? The manual refers to an option to keep the backlight on when the unit has external power but the "External Power" option is not available on my new unit.

The SDS200 is always on external power as it doesn't have a battery. The external power option is for the SDS100.
Go to menu> Display options> Backlight options> Set timer> Keypress> Infinite. You may need to adjust squelch setting in the same menu to off.
See if that works, there are a lot of settings that can work in combination with each other. There are separate settings for the keypad light.
It can be done.

“External power” refers to the SDS100, a battery powered handheld version of the SDS200 scanner. If using the SDS200 just ignore the external power reference. The backlight is covered in the manual and will stay on as long as you like. Push the squelch knob to enter the menu and scroll to “Display Options”. Choose “Backlight Options”.
