Just checked MTC Radio. $639.99 for SDS200. I’ve ordered one from MTC last year. At that time it was no shipping and no sales tax. Don’t believe you’ll be able to beat that price.

Thats an excellent price on the 200... I've ordered from them before too... They are a Mom and Pop business and reputable...

And as long as your not in Texas, no tax charged and free shipping...

Shipping

Main Trading Company is pleased to announce our continuing policy of free ground shipping on most orders of new equipment over $100. Any orders over $100 will be subject to a Signature Confirmation upon delivery unless otherwise noted in the comments of the order. We are not liable for theft or loss if signature is waived. Most factory new radios and accessories qualify for free UPS or FedEX ground shipping Or Free USPS Priority Mail (at our Discretion). Tracking numbers will be provided when orders are shipped, this is why it is important to sign in using your profile instead of checking out as a guest.

For most orders that total over $100, UPS ground service or USPS Priority Mail (at our Discretion)( for shipments in the Continental USA 48 States only) is at no charge. Some exceptions include some larger items and some sale items. Most used or consignment and some open box items may have shipping charges that apply.

Standard Shipping to Continental United States is based on Dollar Amount of Order

  • $1 to $16 shipping is $7.95
  • $16.01 to $25 shipping is $13.95
  • $25.01 to $99.99 shipping is $17.95
Most orders over $100 ship Free to the Continental USA (lower 48) Some oversize, Bulky or long items will have a small shipping surcharge. AK, HI, PR orders: We may call you to help us out on the freight

Just to chime in with my 2 cents on Main Trading Company, I ordered a brand-new BCD325P2 handheld from them a while back for $299.99 with FREE shipping and no sales tax. Based on what other vendors are charging for the same radio (Scanner Master at $399.95, Ham Radio Outlet currently on sale at $399.95 with a $439.95 "Regular Price" and Bearcat Warehouse at $375.99) I'm thinking the price I paid at MTC was somewhere close to dealer cost. YMMV

I picked up an HP-2 from them last year at this time to add to my SDS's... $399.99... Cheapest I ever saw at that price... So I jumped on it...
Works great on my statewide system since my county is not simulcast...

Seriously considering this BUT ...
The "hum issue": has Uniden corrected this in the manufacturing process, comparable to the grounding modification to older units? Not still using the "wedge" between case and circuit board, are they?
Joe Bearcat teased a new scanner model. Any recent news on if it will be the new "top-of-the-line" model?

The word on that from Uniden:

Not at all intended to be a "top of the line" model, nor is it replacing any current model. Plenty of info on specs and the intended markets for these scanners has been posted throughout the forums and Youtube via the Scanner Guys channel.

Check this thread:

MTC Radio has the SDS200 on sale again for $639.99. You have to add to the cart to see the sale price
Just a heads up that they only let you add one SDS200 to your cart at $639.99. If you add any additional SDS200 scanners to your cart, they come up at the regular price of $699.99. I guess the workaround would be to place separate orders if you want/need more than one at the sale price.

Also, as an added bonus, you can get the Rolls MU118 Digital Multimeter with Frequency Measurement and Temperature Sensor for just $10 with your order of $100 or more. Just add the multimeter to your cart and it will come up at $10 as long as you have at least $100 in your cart.

These are some decent deals for last-minute Christmas shopping considering that you also get FREE shipping and no sales tax is charged unless you are shipping to a Texas address.
