Hello!

I recently installed an SDS200 in my truck for mobile listening, and I added the GPS puck. The GPS puck only came with one cable, and it's about six feet long, and all I need is a few inches. I saw some of the other GPS kits used to come with the long cable and then one that was maybe 6".

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can get a short cable for this?

I thought of this but wasn’t sure if the GPS and scanner use more or less wires, some different configuration or if it’s literally just as easy as that.

Just make sure the cord has all 4 contacts.
I've always built my own cable for my SDS200 GPS so I never paid any attention to the factory phone cable.
Does the correct 4 wire cable use the Straight or Reversed wiring method according to the way they call and show the cables at the Amazon link in this thread?

Just make sure the raised line on the cable is on the same side of both crimp on connectors.

I purchased the ones in the above Amazon link and they do not work. The wires are reversed between the two ends on the ones from Amazon just like the oem Uniden cord but the GPS indicator does not come on with the Amazon cord. Not sure what the difference could be.

hmmm the Amazon cord does not have a raised line like the longer OEM cord does. What does the raised line mean/do?

Are you sure the cables you got from that link above are a reveresed pinout?

The cable being sold in the Amazon link in post #2 above is for a straight through cable as highlighted and bulleted in their listing, which won't work with Uniden's CB-GPSK GPS puck.

The CB-GPSK GPS puck for the SDS200 uses a reversed pinout as shown in the bottom pic above.

The raised line is just a reference point when you are comparing the ends of the cable.

I'm using 2 of those GPS pucks and they come with a reveresed cable. See these posts here:

Just differentiate one side from the other. The crimp for both connectors on the same side are reversed connectors, what you want or can build. If the crimp is one on raised and one on flat side, that's a straight thru cable.

Well you are correct! That’s what I get for using my old ass eyes and the light on my phone to look at the Amazon cable. Would have sworn it was revered but with some light and my readers…it isn’t.

might be time to just by the ends and the tool and do it myself.

Thank you everyone for being patient with a scanner noob.

In your scanner, did you set the GPS baud rate to 9600? That should also be set under the Location Settings tab in the profile editor of Sentinel. Default is 4800.

So did anyone figure out another source for the shorter cable? I bought the same ones described above from AMAZON and they didn't work either. Wish I had seen this thread first.
