Hi folks,
I am a feed provider here and the town I am a feed provider for is moving over to digital (P25 Phase II) shortly. I currently provide feed of the Police, Fire and EMS service for the town.
I have been working with the Police Department on their switch over and they have put up a test feed for me patching the Fire Department into the new system so that I can get setup and ready for their switch. They are almost ready to go, however they are waiting for a firmware update on their radios before they fully switch over.
Anyways I was just informed that because our EMS serves more then our town, that they will be staying on Analog and not moving to the digital system. This puts a wrinkle into my setup that I have working now, which was a PC setup with SDRTrunk. The issue now is I have no way of pulling in the Analog EMS into the feed that is being put out by SDRTrunk.
This means I will need a scanner, and since our P25 system for our area is a Simulcast system I am looking at the SDS200.
Some questions...
1) Can I scan both the digitial system and the analog EMS system at the same time?
2) I notice that the SDS200 has a lan port, can I stream to Broadcastify directly via the lan port?
3) Can I also stream from the SDS200 to the Broadcastify Feed system?
4) I notice the SDS200 does not have a record out jack so I am guessing I will need an audio splitter so I can feed the audio to my PC encoder (if sending audio via LAN don't work) and to some speakers so I can still listen to the feed as well.
5) I was just watching a ScannerGuys video and they mentioned that new scanners were coming, this move is expected in a few weeks, should I wait for a new model?
6) Anything else I should know before I buy one? Only thing it will be used for is sending the Police Fire and EMS to Broadcastify.
Thanks!
