Is there a way to scroll through favourites only with the big knob similar to a commercial radio going though channels with auto-scan lists? I can just set up a ton of FLs and scroll through as that's preferable to do in a car than look at the display or punch numbers in.

Also, how are you programming large statewide systems for quick keys without duplicating the system with single sites? I'd like to be able to scan all sites for police only OR scan site 2 for police and EMS talkgroups.

Favourite QK: 1
System QK: 1 (only one system in this favourites list, would like to use for the sites instead.)
Site QK: 1, 2, 3, 4... etc
Department 1 (police), 2(fire), 3(ems), 4, 5.. etc.

Only program a trunked system once. Don't program it multiple times with different subsets of sites or Departments. Easiest way to do what you want is to use location control or site quick keys to toggle sites, and toggle service types to toggle police vs fire vs EMS.

Thanks - that's what I figured.

But there's only three levels of keys: Favourite, System and Site/Department. It seems I'm needing four levels: Favourite, System, Site, and Department. Appreciate your help, I'm just wrapping my head around this style of programming.

No. Sites and departments are independent, and neither one is a "child" of the other--they are properly thought of as siblings, or maybe cousins. Site coverage is dictated by terrain, department coverage is dictated by political boundaries. Sites can carry traffic for multiple departments, and a department can be served by multiple sites.

Ahhh... I think I get it. There's three levels of keys, but the third level 0.0.x is Site AND Department. So for example, I'll assign Quick Key 1 to Police talkgroups, and Quick Key 11 for Site 1.

So 1.1.1 will toggle police for Favourite 1 System 1
while
1.1.11 will toggle Site 1 for Favourite 1 System 1.
Then if BOTH are ON, I'm scanning police talkgroups on Site 1.
