I have a new SDS200 on the way and wanting to know if I can use the Micro SD Card that is in my BCD536HP for the SDS200 the way it is programmed now or do I have to reprogram it for the SDS200 from Sentinel?

Also can I use the favorites list in Sentinel for my 536HP and upload the same profile/list to the new SDS200 or do I have to also reprogram Sentinel for the new scanner?

It would be nice to just use everything I already have setup

No reprogramming needed. Your 536HP list or card, will work in the SDS200.

While you can use your 536’s list in the SDS200, what you might want to do is duplicate it. Then, you can do minor editing to take advantage of the features of the 209 that are not in the 536HP, such as the filters, and Site NAC for trunked systems.

I have a specific profile set for each scanner, which allows a different mix of systems set for download as well as monitoring. In your profiles, set the target model as well.

Go to the Tools tab in Sentinel and set the Target Model to SDS200. It will give you access to the settings applicable to your scanner such as the ability to edit the display, filters for the sites, and setting Site NAC.

If it was me, in Sentinel, I'd open the Profile you used for the 536, then do a "Save As", giving it a different name. Next I'd do as described above, changing the Target Model. Being really anal retentive, I'd also change the Opening Message in the Profile's Display Options.

Also, I change the Display colors to be a little more appealing as well as the information that is displayed on the scanner. That's in the Edit>Edit Display.

Lastly, I'd create a second/spare SD card. Just in case of a card failure at the worst time and I'm away from a computer. Some folks tape their spares to the underside of the scanner. (Mine's mounted in a console, so I leave the SD card in a plastic case in the glove box.)
