Hi all, I'd like to support my local HRO but they don't know if their stock has the hum fix, do we have a serial number beginning range that is safe (has it factory installed)?

Thank you
Jen

J/K....I haven't heard any sequence of serial numbers that are the "new" batch. However, my unit is right at the middle and I have no hum issue or audio issues as others have complained about

Thank you all for your input but it does answer my very specific question, do we know at what point serial number wise, Uniden started including the fix at the factory, thank you. There are several other hum related threads, I'd like to keep this one to my question if possible so I can pick up on at HRO if possible and support my local store (would be a lot easier to do this online, but I'm trying not to).

Thanks Static... much appreciated... this is what the local store said they had for stock

Our current units in stock have the following serial numbers: 88000***, 88001***, 9800****, 9800****, 9800****, 9800**** & 9800****

which all appear to be much shorter, I think at this point I'm wasting my time and energy, it's not my responsibility to ensure an item bought in a store is not defective, they shoulld have already determine if the items they had need to be fixe prior to sale and telling me I can get the part and fix it myself kinda torqued me anyways, not at this price...

I'll order one from hamstation in the morning, they're confirming their units have the upgrade, have free shipping, no tax so will be $50.00 cheaper..

I tried to support local brick and mortar but at some point they have to help themselves, if they know they have product that potentially has issues they should have sent it back or done the upgrades, thanks everyone, mods feel free to lock this thread.

or you can leave it unlocked mod, it'll serve as a good example of everyone helping me choose and how great Hamstation has been so far to work with, if left open, I'll add my happiness when it arrives, thank you again everyone, great community.

I bought an SDS200 from the Ham Station about a month ago. It was listed as having the "speaker hum" fix. I haven't noticed any hum at all. It sounds really good.

my serial # is 38426088000591 and it came with the copper plate inserted from the factory and I still hear the hum when the amp turns on.

This is my second radio that was shipped out.
